Head of Security

Location:        Bristol

Length:           4 months temporary, ongoing

Hours:             37.5 hours a week, Mon – Fri

Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsible for all security matters across two commercial sites
  • Manage the security of car parking and cycle storage across both sites
  • Direct line management responsibility for Security Manager and Violence Reduction Manager
  • Indirect management of total team of 23
  • Assist with the development and implementation of a clear security strategy
  • Resolve complex service issues often involving multiple staff teams within a high pressure environment
  • Track Key Performance Indicators through the Divisional Performance tracker
  • Ensure that all incidents and near misses related to security are reported and appropriately investigated to manage their potential recurrence
  • Support criminal and civil proceedings and to seek redress through the judicial system against those whose behaviours and actions lead to loss or disruption to business activities
  • Provide strategic and operational security reports
  • Collect, analyse and interpret a wide range of complex security related data for the development of a comprehensive monthly risk management report
  • Review the effectiveness of staffing rota identifying where change is required and how change may be implemented to effect positive change for security staff and the security service

Essential requirements:

  • Experience in operational management of in-house security team and the provision of suitable manning levels
  • Knowledge and expertise in CCTV and BWV (Body Worn Video) management, review and further development
