Health and Safety Advisor- Civils

Location: Bedford

Salary: £35,000-£45,000

Duration: Permanent

My client are a civil engineering company who specialise in residential projects. They have been running for over 28 years and have grown and expanded to become one the area’s top civil engineering and groundworks company.

For this role you will lead on and provide advice, support, deliver health and safety advice to the organisation; and to be the responsible named officer for maintaining health and safety requirements. They are looking for someone who has experience in health and safety , preferably previously worked a similar role.

Responsibilities and Duties

Health & Safety Advisor will be required to carry out a variety of duties including:

• Advise and carry out on side audits on Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Training assurance

• Investigate Health, Safety and Environmental Incidents

• Complete regular site inspections

• Assist in the delivery of corporate inductions to new employees and contractors

• Provide advice and guidance to site management teams on Health & Safety Matters

• Deliver in-house training as required inc Face Fit Testing and inductions

• Attend Health & Safety Progress meetings inc client consortium meetings advising on co-ordination of the works and any HSEQT implications that require addressing

• Reviewing of Construction Phase Plan, site specific risk assessments and method statements, traffic management plans throughout the project

Salary & Benefits

• £35,000-£40.000

Role Requirement - Qualifications and Skills

• Microsoft Literate

• Good communication skills

• Able to solve problems independently as well as part of a a wider team

• Excellent attention to detail

• Able to manage themselves as well as work as part of a wider team

• Manage own diary ensuring targets are met

• Good timekeeping

• Must hold a UK Driving Licence

• NEBOSH General Certificate

• CSCS Card
