Housing options officer

Have you got experience working as a Housing Choices Officer? I'm excited to be able to recruit for the London Borough of Newham. They are looking for someone to join a team of experienced colleagues who will be undertaking various assessments to help prevent homelessness.

Key skills and experience:

• A comprehensive knowledge of the appropriate housing legislation including part VII of the Housing Act 1996, and the Homelessness Prevention Act.
• Effective use of the legislations in helping prevent homelessness.
• Assessing people's housing needs based on their specific, case-to-case circumstances, and creating tailor made Personal Housing Plans.
• Efficient management of complex case loads in a busy environment, thoroughly exploring all options.
• Maintaining high levels of customer care and empathy throughout to give customers the best, most personal support possible.
