Hays Education is the market leading agency in the West Yorkshire area, and we are currently recruiting a Key Stage 1 Teacher for a lovely single-form entry Primary School in Castleford. As a Key Stage 1 Teacher, you will be required to take full responsibility for planning, teaching, and delivering lessons to Year 1 and Year 2 pupils. You will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, working alongside Teaching Assistants to provide the highest teaching standards for pupils, allowing them to develop and grow in preparation for their future in Education. In your role as a Key Stage 1 Teacher, you will also need to monitor, track and mark the progress of the pupils within your classes.


This role starts in September and runs until May half-term 2025. This role would suit an ECT looking to build experience in KS1 classrooms as the school is a very supportive environment used to encouraging progress in their teams.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have:


A qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
A proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning outcomes
A strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks
A commitment to continuous professional development and improvement
A positive attitude and a sense of humour
A willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external partners
A respect for diversity and an understanding of equality issues
