Job Purpose

BATT CABLES is seeking a passionate and experienced Learning & Development Manager to support the organisation's growth strategy and development of their employees.  This is a key part of their expansion strategy and will play a critical leadership role in their transformation journey, enhancing individual's skills and knowledge.

Key areas of focus include;
  • Key part of the leadership team, subject matter expert on all people development initiatives, able to engage senior stakeholders in the wider L&D strategy.
  • Working with the leadership team to identify training gaps across the organisation.
  • Support the implementation of all new systems, coordinating training with the providers and embedding new functionality (ie. Manager self service etc)
  • Working with the CPO and wider HR team to create the Talent Development / Succession Planning processes and frameworks.
  • Develop a robust management development programme for existing and future leaders.
  • Facilitation and delivery of training as and when required.
  • Implementation and embedding the new LMS, looking at future eLearning solutions. 
  • Provide clarity on career development, develop transparent career framework.
  • Drive accountability for L&D within the leadership team.
  • Utilise data and metrics to drive future decision making.
  • Evaluate and analyse feedback to make improvements. 

Ideally based Erith 3 days a week with travel to UK sites.

Person requirements

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following;
  • Experience within the full training cycle from delivery and facilitation through to systems implementation and use of new technology.
  • Experience of conducting TNA in a complex, multi-site organisation.
  • Strong influencer, able to work with a wide variety of challenging stakeholders.
  • Experience of implementing and embedding new systems.
  • Enjoys working in an environment going through change and transformation, able to support and coach others on the journey.
  • Resilient, energetic and delivery orientated.
  • Able to work autonomously, self-sufficient regarding coordination and administration (minimal admin support, may increase in future).
