QED legal are working with a reputable law firm in Newcastle who are looking for a legal secretary to join their busy property team.

For this role I'm seeking a highly organised individual who brings a positive ‘can do’ attitude’ to support the fee earners within their modern office in Newcastle.

Duties will include:
  • Organise and prioritise workloads in collaboration with fee earners
  • Prepare inward and outward post
  • Open and close files and maintain general matter documentation
  • Assist in preparing, submitting, and downloading property searches
  • Complete Stamp Duty Land Tax forms and Land Registry applications
  • Prepare and collate Engrossments, marking them up for execution
  • Make preparations for completion of tasks
  • Complete monthly billing tasks
  • E-file all documents and correspondence to fee earners
  • Liaise with clients and take instructions under supervision of fee earners

Key attributes:
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency in IT skills for amending and finalising legal documents
  • Experience in document preparation, including working with house-style and re-formatting documentation
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and a positive attitude
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Possess excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines
