Maintenance Technician
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Location: Bury St. Edmunds. 
  • Salary: Circa £45,000 DOE 
  • Shift pattern12-hour shifts - 2 days/2 nights – 5 days off, 2 days/ 3 nights - 4 days off)

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all production equipment to ensure effective and safe operation, minimising equipment downtime. This position requires a combination of technical skills and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, focusing on electrical and mechanical maintenance. 
  • Carry out repairs of production, processing, and utility-related equipment.
  • Support the installation of new equipment and ensure all repairs are well-documented.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and neat work area.
  • Complete all maintenance paperwork neatly and accurately.
  • Participate in the BOPEX (continuous improvement) program.
  • Comply with all procedures, regulations, and policies.
  • Immediately stop and report unsafe operations, adhering to mandatory PPE guidelines.
  • Offer flexibility in working hours to meet business needs, including on-call duties outside regular hours.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma with a Technical Qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong electrical knowledge and skills.
  • Awareness of HACCP, food hygiene, and safety requirements.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Experience in repair and maintenance of machinery within a food or drink manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
