Management Accountant - 12 Month FTC

Location: Guildford or Kings Langley (Hybrid)

Company Overview:

My client are a market leader in Energy Renewables, they are seeking a Management Accountant to join the team. They are at the forefront of the energy sector, committed to delivering sustainable and efficient energy solutions. The role is responsible for taking ownership of core deliverables around balance sheet reporting and supporting the team in providing insight and support to stakeholders. There will also be opportunity to work on projects which focus on simplifying current processes and the implementation of new IT technology. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance to support decision-making.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze key financial metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Support the annual audit process by providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and drive operational efficiency.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the finance team, fostering their professional development.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in management accounting to continuously improve processes and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT).
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
  • Strong accounting knowledge.
  • IFRS, FRS 102, FRS 101 and UK GAAP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
