Management Accountant

Your new company
You will work for a successful and thriving international business, based in their central London office. This business also has offices in Japan, Italy, Switzerland and Canada, and are soon to expand into France.

Your new role
You will work for the retail arm of a Strategic Brand Agency, reporting to the Finance Director, with responsibility for end-to-end Management Accounts. Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

• Accrual and prepayment journals
• Balance sheet reconciliation
• Preparation of monthly P&L account statements
• Extraction of multisite data from POS system; consolidating and inputting into accounting system
• Liaison with managers in order to obtain any missing accounting information
• Intercompany accounting to support month end
• Ongoing review and improvement of existing processes/procedures and reporting
• Providing support for annual audit
• Ensuring correct tax compliance is followed in line with applicable VAT & GST regulations
• Business Partnering with various internal stakeholders in London and across multiple international sites
• Preparation of various weekly reports
• Dealing with large data sets, generating analysis and reports
• Supporting FP&A i.e. budget planning
• Support and oversight of Accounts Payable and Receivable
• Play a key role in various finance projects, including AP automation

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will evidence recent and relevant experience working in a similar end-to-end Management Accountant role including balance sheet reconciliation, accrual and prepayment journals. You will be actively working towards a professional accounting qualification, possess strong technical accounting knowledge, including double entry bookkeeping, with the ability to explain this (your knowledge will be tested in interview). Experience working in the retail industry, for a multisite/entity business, and/or dealing with foreign currencies is advantageous, but not essential. Additionally, if you are bilingual and can speak Italian, French, German or Japanese (as well as fluent English), this would be beneficial (by no means essential). You will be an individual who can take direction, confident and honest, with a solution-focused mindset.
