Operations Supervisor Overview:
As part of the company expansion, our client seek an individual to spearhead freight-forwarding operations at their Manchester office. Reporting to the branch manager, you'll oversee a versatile multi-modal team, collaborating closely with warehouse and forthcoming 3PL contract logistics divisions.

Operations Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operational tasks.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client liaison and issue escalation.
  • Supervise operational team activities efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide support and guidance to team members in their daily functions.
  • Address failures promptly, analysing root causes and implementing corrective measures.
  • Foster staff empowerment and facilitate career progression.
  • Identify and implement procedural enhancements.
  • Spot potential sales opportunities and direct them to relevant departments.

Operations Supervisor Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in both Air and Ocean logistics.
  • Excellent communication skills with a knack for influencing others.
  • Leadership capabilities, adept at encouraging and coaching effective communication.
  • Personal commitment to continuous self-improvement.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships within the team and recognise and reward achievements.
  • Confidence in implementing innovative changes to drive business success.
  • Knowledge and experience in Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) practises are advantageous.
