Role - SEND Teaching Assistant - Personal care

Start Date: September

Hours - Full time

Area - Nottingham City Centre

My client is currently looking to recruit a SEND teaching assistant to work 1-1 with a child with autism, who requires personal care support in year 1.

They are a larger than average Primary school which is 3 form entry. They are part of an inspiring academy chain and are looking for a committed, calm, caring and imaginative SEND Teaching Assistant, who has experience of personal care and changing.

The school has high expectations for pupil's behaviour, establishing and maintaining good positive and productive relationships is key across the school for success.

Responsibilities for this SEND Support role:

  • Supporting a SEND pupil with autism on a 1:1 basis in the classroom
  • Work on differentiated activities to deliver to the student
  • Liaise with the SENCO/Inclusion manager to deliver relevant support to the pupil
  • Develop social/emotional skills of the pupil
  • Work with teachers to monitor progress of the pupil
  • Accompanying the pupil to relevant therapy sessions

Requirements for the role:

  • Previous experience of working with children or young adults with special needs is essential
  • A teaching assistant NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Manual handling experience would be an advantage
  • Care work or personal care experience

Pay rate £85-£100 per day depending on experience
