Your new role
We are currently recruiting for a number of Project Escorts to work at HMP Coldingley in Bisley, on a temporary long-term contract. The purpose of the role will be to escort contractors around the site of Coldingley whilst they are on site working on a project. You will be responsible for counting their tools when they arrive in the morning, as well as checking their ID, vehicles and checking that they are not bringing any unauthorised items. You will then escort them to their workplace and supervise them whilst they are undertaking their work, ensuring that all contractors and their tools are never left alone on site.

• Searching Contractors
• Supervision of contractors while on site
• Patrolling perimeter and grounds
• Searching buildings
• Routine administrative work

Working hours & rate of pay:
Monday - Thursday 7:45 - 5
Fridays 7:45 - 2
The rates of pay are fixed at £13.56 per hour (inclusive of holiday) plus very attractive overtime rates, with 33 days annual leave per annum. When projects are busy, there will be regular overtime available.

This is an ongoing contract which will last a minimum of 3 years, but likely longer. These roles also open up a wealth of permanent opportunities for you to step into within the wider prison service either at Coldingley or other locations.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for honest, reliable, trust-worthy and hard-working candidates with a clear criminal record. Security experience is not necessary as full training is provided, however a military or security background would be beneficial.

Due to the nature of the location, all applicants will have to undergo extensive security checks and clearance before starting on site, so you must be willing to undergo a fully enhanced MOJ security clearance check & a Police National Check, which will be fully funded and organised by Hays.

What you'll get in return
This is a full-time position offering a long run of work with overtime available. The hourly rate for the standard hours is £11.84 plus hourly holiday pay, taking it to £13.56 per hour with holiday pay included. Any overtime during the week is paid at £17.76 plus holiday. If you are called in on a weekend or bank holiday, it is paid at £23.68 plus holiday pay.
