SciMed has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Specialist (Product Manager) to join our growing team based at either our Stockport facility or along the M62 corridor.

  • Full time, permanent
  • £35,000 - £50,000 per annum + up to £20,000 OTE
  • Travel within the UK, Ireland and occasionally abroad is required

Throughout this growth SciMed has remained an owner-managed company and the management team still remains at the forefront of both the sales process and day to day running of the company.

About the role:

As part of our continued growth, we are recruiting a new Product Manager (Technical sales Manager) to look after the product range from Gamry Instruments, as well as the recent additions of Kolibrik potentiosta and Neware battery cyclers.

The successful candidate will focus on technical sales, managing existing users and expanding our market share. This role involves travel within the UK Ireland and occasionally abroad for training.

Reporting to the Sales Director, you will be required to:

  • Develop and maintain territory plans
  • Prospect and exceed sales targets
  • Conduct product demonstrations and attend events
  • Maintain CRM records and strong customer relationships
  • Contribute to market awareness and trends
  • Support colleagues within the team

About you:

The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level (or equivalent) as a minimum with excellent communication skills both oral and written. As well as this, we are looking for someone with:

Essential:

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate strong negotiation skills
  • Comfortable and confident in client-facing scenarios
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Willingness to travel within the territory at the level necessary to excel in the role
  • Travel to other areas such as USA, China and Europe
  • Stay overnight where required
  • Accept additional responsibilities as the role and experience grows

Desirable:

  • Experience using CRMs
  • Knowledge of electrochemistry instrumentation
  • Knowledge of battery technology
  • Field Sales experience in the field of electrochemistry or battery technology
  • Python or other relevant programming experience
  • A Scientist driver for a move into a commercial role may be considered
