Location: Wigan
Salary: £12.50ph
Hours: Monday to Friday (8am-4.30pm)
Acorn by Synergie is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a R&D Chemist to join their client, a manufacturing business located in Wigan, Greater Manchester.
Reporting to the R&D Lab Manager, this role involves overseeing the day-to-day batch manufacturing necessary for the lab-scale development of new products. Additionally, this role involves completing any other project development tasks promptly and professionally, ensuring the company's professionalism is upheld.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Conduct experimental work in alignment with the R&D Manual
- Maintain clear and organised records of all process information to facilitate review and the development of commercial process instructions.
- Prepare Laboratory and dispatch samples.
- Test and evaluate material and products.
- Produce necessary reports and provide data for transfer.
- Provide assistance with quality assurance matters, including rework, complaints, incidents, and rejects.
- Provide training to new staff on all procedures.
- Immediately report incident the require management attention following the correct policies and procedures.
- Adhere to strict H&S and ensure duties are compliant.
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Knowledge or sampling and product testing.
- Ability to resolve issues with laboratory equipment and processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP system.
- Familiar with management systems
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to comply with safety and quality regulation requirements.
The successful candidate should have prior experience in a busy laboratory environment, with proficiency in chemistry testing techniques. They should demonstrate a proactive, hands-on approach and a collaborative mindset, stiving to enhance product quality as pat of a team effort.
