Working as part of a small, ambitious, and growing core team, the role will predominantly cover the production of daily PnL related to Gas, Power, LNG, Emissions, and Metals, alongside a host of other responsibilities. This role Assist Originators / Traders with implementing new counterparts / business, and ideally the successful candidate will also be able to use their technical coding skills to improve/automate elements across the business!

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Reconcile daily & monthly PnL and report to stakeholders
• Support new business implementation brought from Originators / Traders, provide feedback to manager on operational flow and necessary controls required to implement new business.
• Assist and facilitate all relevant internal departments including but not limited to Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Accounting, and Treasury to ensure all business transactions are smoothly implemented and conducted within company rules.
• Monitor desk cash flow and liaise with Front Office to ensure a suitable cash position
• Liaise with relevant departments for any internal applications necessary, work alongside line manager to build and maintain online workflows to streamline business approvals and applications
• Monitor FO team so that all trades on relevant markets are transacted correctly in line with contracts.
• Maintain close communication with front office, back office and assist in resolving any settlement / confirmation problems.
• Introduce new ideas and work alongside line manager to improve existing business processes and controls.
• Utilise technology to enhance business reporting (Power BI).
• Identify automation opportunities and work closely with line manager and IT, to test and implement such improvements.
• Any other tasks as assigned by line manager or Senior Management

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Math and/or related field.
• 1 years+ with a Energy/Commodities Trading desk
• Strong Excel Skills - VBA and Python highly desirable
• Must have demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively, and long-term desire to move into Front Office or add value in other support functions
• Highly analytical and methodical approach in prior role(s)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical skills.
• Organized and detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to follow up to meet deadlines.
