POSITION BASED ST ALBANS MUST LIVE WITHIN 5 MILES. IMMEDIATE START

Job Title: Experienced School Caretaker Location: St Albans Start Date: Immediate start. May/June 2024

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the security of school buildings.
  • Set up and clear classrooms and event venues.
  • Assist with maintenance and ensure the appearance of buildings and grounds.
  • Perform ad hoc cleaning and general maintenance tasks.
  • Handle site lock-up and opening duties as needed.
  • Drive as required; must possess a full, clean UK driving licence.

Overall Purpose:

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment for all school users including students, staff, parents, and visitors.

Requirements:

  • Previous caretaker experience.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and cleaning methods.
  • Manual handling and basic DIY skills.
  • DBS check is beneficial.

Traits:

  • Well-organized with strong time management and supervisory skills.
  • Committed, proactive, and able to work outdoors with a "can-do" attitude.

Additional Information:

  • Full-time, non-residential role.
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM with a 1-hour lunch break.
  • 25 days annual holiday plus 8 bank holidays and an additional 3 days during the festive period.
  • Benefits include free lunch and parking.
