As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the science department and ensuring the smooth delivery of practical experiments and demonstrations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing equipment and materials for science lessons and experiments.
  • Assisting teachers during practical sessions, providing technical support and guidance to students.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in proper working order and arranging for repairs when necessary.
  • Managing stock levels of chemicals, specimens, and other resources, and placing orders as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in the science department.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A strong background in science, with relevant qualifications (e.g., A-levels, BTEC) preferred.
  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with a commitment to supporting the learning and development of students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
