Head of Art

We are looking to appoint a Head of Department (Maternity Cover) to lead a highly successful Art department. We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and dedicated Art teacher to lead a department that enjoys an excellent reputation both within and beyond the school. If you are an outstanding practitioner with the ability to inspire and motivate students and who is keen to move into middle leadership, we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class(es), ensuring equality of opportunity for all.
  • Achieve the highest possible standards in work and conduct.
  • Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/families, governors, other staff, the Avanti Schools Trust, and external agencies in the best interests of pupils.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Passionate about Art with exceptional subject knowledge.
  • Vision, technical skill, and experience to lead the Art department.
  • Ability to devise, implement, and monitor teaching and delivery to engage students in their study of Art from Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Outstanding behaviour management skills.
