Role: ASD Teaching Assistant - Secondary

Start: ASAP

Location: South London

Contract: Full Time

Rate: £95-£110 per day

If so, we are looking for a compassionate SEN specialist TA who is dedicated to supporting pupils with autism within a secondary school. You will be assisting the classroom teacher with supervision over the students who suffer from the following conditions… Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)…To undertake this role, you will be dealing with challenging behaviour and using various reinforcement strategies to provide support for pupils who need extra support.

The ideal candidate:

• Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
• Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.

Requirements:

• Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting students with ASD.
• Ability to show empathy, compassion and resilience
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• DBS (preferably on the update service)
