If so we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate candidate who is willing to shape the future of young pupils. We require a Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant to a pupil within a primary school. You will be supporting vulnerable children in their school environment. Supporting them with their academic and social growth, helping them to achieve calm and regulated moods to access their learning and development.
The ideal candidate:
- Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
- Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
Requirements:
- Must have SEMH or ASD Experience
- Minimum one year School Setting experience
- CACHE level 3 qualification
- Safeguarding experience
