Position: 1-1 Learning Assistant for SEN

Location: Rowde, Wiltshire

Salary: £22,000 - £24,000

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Who We're Looking For:

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-1 Learning Assistant to join our team in Rowde. Key Responsibilities:

  • Personalised Support: Provide individualised assistance to a student with SEN, tailoring teaching methods and strategies to meet their specific learning, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement personalised education plans that address the student's unique requirements.
  • Engagement and Motivation: Keep the student engaged and motivated by creating stimulating and accessible learning activities that cater to their interests and abilities.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor the student's progress regularly, provide feedback to relevant stakeholders, and adjust support strategies as needed to maximise learning outcomes.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour management techniques and support the student in developing effective coping strategies and social skills.
  • Resourceful Learning: Utilise a variety of educational resources and adapt teaching materials to accommodate the student's learning style and preferences.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Experience: Previous experience working as a teaching assistant, particularly in a 1-1 capacity with SEN students, is essential.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for building rapport with students, families, and school staff.
  • Passion for SEN Support: Demonstrated commitment to supporting the educational and emotional development of children with special needs.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to adapt teaching methods and approaches to suit the individual needs and preferences of the student.
  • Educational Background: A background in education, psychology, or a related field is preferred, along with additional training or qualifications in SEN support.
