Empowering Learning are looking for QTS Primary Teacher to work in a specialist and bespoke school situated in the East Midlands . Experience working in a school setting and experience with SEND pupils is essential. Teaching ability across the age ranges is favourable. This role is to start in September and initially a Maternity Cover for 1 year.

Expectations:

  • Have experience working with young people
  • QTS or QTLS
  • Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children
  • Lead a range of subjects with pupils.
  • Have an interest in supporting young people with a variety of SEND
  • Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable not essential)
  • Be able to supply school with teaching references
  • Be a part of the school team taking part in the wider school environment
  • Have an understanding of behavioural management

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teaching a range of subjects in a class setting in SEND School.
  • Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning.
  • Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
  • Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
  • Possible supervising on lunch and break times
  • Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
  • Building relationships with staff and pupils
  • Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments
  • Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress
  • To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
  • Potentially lead in a subject area
  • Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers
