Sector: Accountancy Practice (for media/marketing sector clients)

Reports to: Client Manager

Location: West End

Permanent: Full Time (mainly remote working with occasional onsite with clients)

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 d.o.e.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified or nearly-qualified accountant wanting to work within a firm that provides outsourced finance capability to the media, marketing and creative services sector.

AsSenior Accountantyou will assist the Client Manager, to whom you will report, with accounting services for a range of clients. TheSenior Accountantwill be responsible for the more technical aspects of client delivery as well as being the secondary point of contact for the client portfolio. The role includes assisting with the supervision and training of junior team members.

Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management

• Communicate proactively with clients to understand their needs
• Articulate the value of our services to clients and prospects
• Monitor the level of service to ensure it meets clients' expectations

Supports Client Manager ("CM")

• Review and manage bookkeeping function (inclusive of VAT returns)
• Review of simple Self-Assessment Tax Returns
• Preparation of limited company accounts for review by CM
• Review client payment runs and action
• Preparation of corporation tax returns for review by CM
• Preparation of management accounts for clients
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts for review
• Prepare client cashflow forecasts
• Prepare client health checks
• Attend client meetings
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients
• Train clients on Xero and Dext and other relevant apps

Workflow management and job budgets

• Understand and monitor the company workflows and expectations
• Deal with client challenges promptly
• Monitor the accuracy of work completed, working to required deadlines
• Seek to continuously improve processes and procedures

Team leadership and development

• Communicate expectations and job requirements clearly
• Delegate effectively
• Review and feedback on the work of junior team members.
• Engage in ongoing professional development

Senior Accountant Key Attributes Required:

• CA / ACA / ACCA qualified or working towards completion.
• At least 3+ years of practice experience
• Excellent Xero experience or certification
• Analytical, problem-solving, planning and organisational skills
• Taking ownership and responsibility
• Highly effective relationship management skills
• Ability to understand and use systems, processes and technologies
• Manage workload and establish priorities, identifying any issues
• Good understanding of accounting principles and GAAP, including FRS 102, Month-end process and journals.
• Knowledge of Self Assessment Tax return sufficient to train junior team members.
• VAT knowledge sufficient to train junior team members
