Arthur is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected P&C reinsurer to find a Senior Actuarial Analyst for their growing reserving team in New York.

As a leading player in the US market, they are recognized for their innovative approach to risks with the combination of data, technology and experience.  The US reserving team is no different, providing insight studying large datasets, working collaboratively as a team and offering the opportunity to continuously learn.

This role will report into the Head of Reserving and work alongside an experienced reserving team, which will offer support but also the chance to take responsibility for challenging projects and your own portfolio of work.

You will liaise with a range of teams on a daily basis including underwriting, pricing, finance and others; offering a truly joined up understanding of how your tasks impact the organization.

These tasks will include:
  • Conducting quarterly reserving processes.
  • Analyzing results to provide key insight to stakeholders.
  • Ensuring accurate data sources through evaluation for setting assumptions.
  • Assist and/or conduct modelling where required including design, implementation and ongoing management.
  • Assist with regulatory requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for those with prior P&C experience in the US market, as an actuarial analyst or senior actuarial analyst, seeking greater involvement in a business overall.  Any prior exposure to tools such as SQL, R and Python for handling datasets is advantageous.

It can offer the opportunity to move into the reinsurance world or take the next step up in your career, as well as work in a close-knit team which offers excellent learning and development with an employer of choice.
