A major trade union organisation is seeking a Social Media and Communications Consultant to join them on an initial 6 month contract.
Responsibilities:
- Adapt press releases and editorial content for social media to enhance engagement and broaden reach.
- Develop tailored content for each social media platform, including videos, member stories, and educational content on workers' rights.
- Provide support for various campaigns, including those addressing workers' rights, healthcare, education, and equality.
- Engage with the social media community by responding to comments, messages, and interacting with followers.
- Ensure consistency and quality in visual assets used across our communications channels.
- Assist regional teams, branches, and activists with social media campaigns, content distribution, and media library management.
- Analyse member engagement and content performance through regular social media reports.
- Fill in for digital roles as needed to maintain operations.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to create compelling social media assets.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managing social media platforms, with a deep understanding of their unique features and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools like Canva, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Familiarity with workers' rights issues and a commitment to social justice are desirable
