Strategic Credit Controller

Elevation Accountancy and Finance are excited to be working with a fantastic client of ours in the Worksop area as they look to recruit a Strategic Credit Controller into the team on a full time, permanent basis.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Chasing customer payments in line with payment terms to minimise bad debt 
• Handling of all tier 2 interactions received into Credit Control ensuring all requests are completed and successfully resolved within the agreed service level
• Look for process improvement opportunity for service delivery
• Work to daily outbound phone targets set by team leader
• Work to individual and Business Unit Overdue Debt reduction targets and Cash Collection
• Work on customer disputes to help minimise outstanding debt and escalate to the appropriate people
• Creating and categorising outbound service requests
• Assisting with on-going training for all staff in the Credit Control team, where required
• Be a first point of contact, for guidance, for team members on the issues that do not fall within standard process
• Assist the Team Leader with providing monthly reporting to the team

Person Specification:

• Strong skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
• Numerate and Literate
• An understanding of Finance systems
• A good understanding of accounting systems and the interactions of ledgers within Accounts Receivable
• Experience of dealing with problems relating to the management of debt such as non-payment of customer invoices requiring legal recourse
• Experience in managing complex customer credit portfolio is desirable
• Experience of working in a busy Customer Service/Finance environment
