The Team is made up of individuals who have a wealth of experience in the legal sector and provide advice internally on all aspects of tax affecting the business and Partner accounting.

Role and key responsibilities

The Tax Assistant is an important role offering the opportunity to learn from our small and friendly team of experts, as well as interacting with our Partners and senior finance management team. • Assisting with all non-UK tax compliance matters including non-UK corporate and partnership tax computations
  • Supporting with overseas corporate/income tax filings and payments
  • Maintaining the International Tax compliance calendar and checklists to ensure all relevant deadlines are met
  • Liaising with overseas finance colleagues on local tax compliance requirements to confirm completion on a timely and accurate basis
  • Supporting with maintaining individual international partner tax reserves and reviewing partner tax accounts where necessary
  • Assisting with regular valve partner review and year end profit sourcing work
  • Handling internal and client withholding tax queries and liaising with revenue and credit control teams
  • Monitoring and responding to emails, where appropriate, received into the central WHT mailbox in addition to assistance with providing guidance and training to minimise WHT/VAT costs suffered by the firm
  • Supporting with overseeing DAC6 compliance and EU black listed territory requirements
  • Assisting with the implementation of adhoc projects such as updating the global transfer pricing policy and fulfilling CbCR and Pillar 2 obligations
  • Support with other ad hoc projects as necessary - e.g. partner queries, partner capital raises

Skills and experience

We are looking for:

  • Minimum 2 year accounting/tax related experience
  • Studying towards an accountancy/tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ATT, CTA)
  • Strong numeracy and IT skills, especially Excel.
  • Confident in dealing with partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic, pro-active, persistent, robust, commitment to "getting the job done".
  • Able to work effectively using own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management skills - ability to multi-task, prioritise, manage and critically review large volumes of data.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to provide a high level of 'client service'
