Teacher – Pupil Referral Unit
Have you ever considered teaching within Pupil Referral Units or Alternative Provisions? Do you enjoy dismantling social and academic barriers for young people? This secondary PRU is currently searching for an inspirational and driven teacher to join the team and is open to secondary qualified teacher of any specialism.

As a teacher at this school, you will be teaching small classes of no more than 8 students with a range of SEMH needs, all of which have been either temporarily or permanently excluded from mainstream education. This role requires a teacher with good classroom management skills, resilience, and a determination to give students a second chance. Leadership is committed to making a difference, and lead by example. This role requires qualified teacher status (QTS), and experience working with challenging behaviours, applicants from a mainstream teaching background are encouraged.

Job Role
  • Teaching small classes of Ky Stage 3 & 4 students who have been excluded.
  • Effectively managing classroom behaviours by delivering engaging lessons that encourage participation and inspire a love for learning.
  • Planning lessons and schemes of work that are tailored to the needs of your students.
  • Working with an experienced team of TA’s and Teacher to improve behaviour and attendance.
  • Taking part in whole school activities, wellbeing days and ongoing training.
