Teaching Assistant Year 6

Your new company
Hays Recruitment are supporting a well-established primary school in Runcorn that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to support in the Year 6 class. This is a long-term temporary contract that will last until the end of the academic year.

Your new role
In your new role as the Year 6 Teaching Assistant you will be working with students in the year 6 class with a focus on SATs preparation. You will work under the instruction of the class teacher and aid in promoting a safe and stimulating learning environment but ensuring that all material is accessible and inclusive, a number of students in this class do have SEN (ADHD, ADD and dyslexia) and will require additional support in all core subjects. You will support your students on a 1:1 basis and group basis, giving support in all core subjects as required, hold intervention and booster sessions and focus on preparation for SATs i.e., maths and English.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered with your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with children/young people in the last 2 years, as well as:

• Previous experience working with Year 6 and preparation for SATs
• Be able to hold intervention and booster sessions in core subjects
• An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualificaiton in Supporting Teaching and Learning is advantageous but not essential
