Behaviour Mentor / Teaching Assistant

Location: North Birmingham, B67 | Payscale: £95-£100 per day | Duration: Long-term to Permanent | Start Date: May/ June 2024

LTF Recruitment are looking for an individual with experience supporting with complex behaviour and SEND in a primary setting. We have a great opportunity based B67, Birmingham. The school is located in the Smethwick area. The role would be full time, long-term starting as soon as possible. The school need individuals who have prior experience in similar roles in a primary setting and who are happy to be part of a supportive, dedicated team.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with special educational needs on a 1:1 and group basis in a mainstream environment
  • Help to engage students in lessons
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Assisting the class teacher when in class to maintain correct behaviour, and support children when needed
  • Reviewing and monitoring children's progress
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months experience working within a school environment in a similar role
  • Someone who can engage children and be a positive influence on their learning
  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
  • Excellent classroom control and behaviour management
  • An engaging style of teaching and positive approach to children's development
  • The ability to meet the needs of SEN children in the class
