Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching are working with a 'Good' Ofsted rated SEN School based in the heart of the New Forest area currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to help provide emotional care and academic support.

This specialist setting catering for children and young people 9-18 who have SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health), Social Communicational Difficulties & Associated Learning Difficulties offers tailored educational packages to help in reducing barriers to learning and promote social, emotional well-being.

Your role will include providing support for pupils, teachers, and the school, working within small-class sizes or with pupils on a 1:1 basis offering a therapeutic approach rich in vocational opportunities.

Contract Details:

  • Location - Lyndhurst, Hampshire
  • Position - Teaching Assistant
  • Type of work - Support role
  • Contract or position start date - ASAP/September 2024
  • Duration / Likely Duration - Ongoing
  • Contract type: Temp/Perm
  • Full time/part time - Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay - From GBP85.10 - GBP98.20
  • Hours - 8:30 - 16.00 (37.5 hours per week)

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

  • GCSEs or equivalent
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent (preferable)
  • Minimum 1 year working with children
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

Eligibility:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
