Our client is a well-established company specializing in vehicle maintenance and repair. Their purpose-built workshop houses a dedicated team of professionals who work on a variety of vehicles, including Mercedes Sprinters, VW Crafters, and VW Transporters.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Vehicle Technician to join their team. As a key member of the maintenance crew, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of their fleet.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle servicing according to company policies.
- Conduct maintenance inspections and repairs, adhering to both company and DVSA standards.
- Prepare and present vehicles for MOTs.
- Diagnose vehicle faults and recommend appropriate repair methods.
- Maintain accurate records and complete paperwork promptly.
- Order parts in alignment with company guidelines.
- Maintain a tidy workshop and organise tools and equipment.
- Assist with on-road vehicle breakdowns.
- Conduct road testing to identify defects or verify successful repairs.
- Prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Adhere to Health and Safety policies and safe working practices.
Experience and Qualities
- NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience in both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Desirable welding experience (though not essential).
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and maintain focus.
- Positive "can-do" attitude.
- Remuneration and Hours:
- Full-time position (40 - 45 hours per week, including breaks).
- Overtime available during busy periods.
- £30,000-£45,000 DOE.
