Part-time Year 5 Teacher

Location: South Sheffield Junior school

Start Date: September (Part-time: Thursdays and Fridays)

Contract: Fixed-term (September 2024 to January 2025)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Primary School Teacher to join our exceptional team at this highly regarded junior school located in South Sheffield. We are seeking a passionate educator to teach Year 5 on a part-time basis, specifically on Thursdays and Fridays, starting from September on a fixed-term contract until January.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead engaging and dynamic lessons for Year 5 students, ensuring that lessons are differentiated to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Utilise a range of teaching strategies and resources to deliver the National Curriculum, fostering a love for learning and promoting independent thinking.
  • Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with colleagues to implement intervention strategies where necessary.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and achievements.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through participation in staff meetings, extracurricular activities, and school events.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a proven track record of teaching in a primary school setting, preferably with experience in upper Key Stage 2 (KS2).
  • Strong understanding of the Year 5 curriculum, assessment methods, and pedagogical approaches that promote deep learning and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a reflective approach to teaching practice.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
