Civil Engineering Main Contractor
South Devon

 Site Engineer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience  required to join a South West Civil Engineering Contractor.

Projects will be supporting South West Water, Western Power Distribution, Local Authorities and The Environment Agency on a number of schemes across the region.

Due to the nature of our business, regular travel within the south west is required.

Role Overview:
  • Setting out and surveying on various sites containing highways, earthworks, RC structures, and drainage
  • Use of a CAT & Gene to locate and mark services ahead of excavating.
  • Checking drawings and quantities for accuracy and errors. 
  • Production and updating of Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Site documentation.
  • Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
  • Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, and the general workforce involved in the project.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • ICE Accredited Training Scheme (IEng/CEng)
  • Transition into Project Management.
  • An industry applicable HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent in Civil Engineering.
  • Recent experience as a Site Engineer with minimum three years on site experience, ideally to include work on highways, earthworks, RC structures, drainage etc.
  • Experience with GPS and other Setting out digital equipment. 
  • Be proficient in the use of AutoCAD.
  • CSCS card.
  • Demonstrable relevant civils based experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines.
