Accounts Assistant
Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, our prestigious UK-wide client seeks a motivated individual to join them as an Accounts Assistant, on a permanent basis. Please note this position requires you to be in the office 5 days per week. This job would suit an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant looking to develop their career within a busy and growing finance department. The successful candidate will enjoy a varied role supporting fixed asset management, reconciliations, month-end processes, and cross-departmental reporting. This large business has seen positive growth over the last few years and has achievable plans to grow turnover by over 30% in the next few years. They are highly regarded within their industry, having won many awards and high-profile contracts and this role have some fantastic exposure to develop your knowledge and skillset. The successful individual will have at least 1-2 years' experience in finance, accounting, or asset management, ideally with knowledge of fixed assets and reconciliations. Part-qualified status (CIMA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent) is desirable, along with strong Excel skills. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-focused team player who can work to deadlines and support wider business objectives. Job responsibilities: Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register to ensure accuracy and completenessAssist with the coordination of weekly and monthly payment runs related to plant and equipment acquisitionsSupport bank, supplier, and purchase order reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepanciesPrepare and provide fixed asset documentation for audit purposesMonitor capital expenditures to ensure proper classification and compliance with asset policiesContribute to month-end and year-end close activities, including variance analysis and reportingLiaise with internal departments to collect and consolidate financial data for reporting purposesSupport the budgeting and forecasting processes, as well as ad hoc financial analysisEnsure adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulatory compliance requirementsCollaborate with the Financial Accountant and Management Accountant on financial reporting and internal controlsPerform general financial administrative duties as required to support overall finance operationsIdentify and implement improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting workflows This is a fantastic opportunity for a drive and motivated Accounts Assistant looking to build their career in a supportive, fast-paced business with excellent prospects for progression.
