About the roleThe Community Activities Coordinator plays a key role in reducing loneliness and isolation while increasing volunteering in the community as part of the Furness For You partnership. The role involves: Organizing engaging activities (like workshops and events) to promote confidence, independence, and life skills.Providing one-on-one support and signposting to relevant services.Creating a welcoming environment to encourage community involvement and well-being.Supporting participants’ development of soft skills and personal goals.Referring individuals for additional support when needed, including help with food, fuel, and access to the community laundry. Overall, the coordinator helps participants build meaningful connections and improve their quality of life. This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service Skills and Experience Requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsIAG Level 2 or equivalentKnowledge of the local voluntary and community sector and experience of working with people who have multiple barriersAbility to work on own initiative and self-manage work load whilst being a team player and recognising the importance of partnership workingHave previous experience of running activity-based sessionsHave previous experience of tracking improvements using Action Plans/STAR Outcomes or similarAbility to motivate people who lack confidenceCustomer care skills, caring and empatheticExperience of data collection and collation, including writing reports and case studiesStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work as part of a team and individuallyFlexibility and be able to adapt to the needs of participantsPrevious experience in a similar roleExperience of following safe lone working practice guidelinesKnowledge & Experience of writing and completing risk assessments Closing date: Midnight on Thursday 24th April 2025Please note, should we receive a high volume of applications, we may look to close the role early, therefore we recommend an early application.
