This role is to shape the content of their publication, focused on the latest news and trends across the marketing & creative sector. These stories include brand insights, the latest campaigns and digital innovations for companies and agencies alike! The role of Editor includes writing and editing industry news stories and engaging features, representing the company at industry events, attending new agency events, and interviewing senior leaders in the creative and marketing sector. Key responsibilities of this Editor role: To lead the strategy & content of the publication. Be part of the SLT within the Editorial and Content team. Research, source, and allocate the writing of news stories for the digital news publications that would be engaging to your decision-making audience.Own the direction, tone, and legalities of stories, op-ed and feature writing. This will suit someone who is not afraid to push back, if not of the best interests of the readers of the publication.Pitch and write features on the most exciting innovation, trends, and stories in the marketing sector.Manage and help develop 1-2 direct reports, editing and providing feedback on their work.Develop Journalists to a senior level and above. Conduct interviews and build strong relationships with senior business leaders.Use SEO and social media strategies to maximise online visibility of content.Represent the company at industry events and maintain a network of industry contacts. Key requirements of this Editor role: Ideally having 5+ years of journalism experience and a portfolio of published articles.You must be operating as an Editor or Deputy Editor level.Experience working in a B2B or trade publication. If you have led a small team this is desirable. Experience in covering marketing, tech or creative stories is highly desirable but not essential.Able to generate interesting content ideas that will resonate with our online audience.Excellent writing, proof-reading, and editing skills.Digital publishing skills - Google Analytics and WordPress (or other CMS).Familiarity with social media best practise and SEO techniques. Role Summary My design client has an inhouse commercial photography studio, they looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, to join the team as 'Assistant Photo Editor’, with an eye for detail and a desire to work in a fast-paced creative environment. Working within the design department, you will be responsible for editing high-quality product images produced in their on-site photographic studio, for own brand and customer websites, printed catalogues and packaging. What You’ll Be Doing • Working closely with the Studio Manager and Photo Editor to ensure high quality image editing / re-touching deadlines are met. • Work on multiple projects, at a fast pace, dealing with a high volume of images. • Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistency and quality of content across all platforms. • Use clipping paths, masking tools, colour correction and AI tools to manipulate imagery in-line with photo briefs. • Responsible for sending images to clipping agency, ensuring all images are checked and returned with the correct paths. • Responsible for organising and uploading images to the company database and maintaining accurate data on file at all times. • Batch processing of images, re-sizing large quantities for web in-line with brand guidelines. • Simple clipping path creation where needed. • Manage your own workload to meet daily business requirements and deadlines. • Follow editing techniques and industry best practices. • To support the business with other tasks, such as creating visual presentations for customer meetings. What You’ll Need • BTEC qualification in Graphic Design or a Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media or A level equivalent. • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, with a solid understanding of image editing tools. • An impeccable eye for detail spotting defects in images. • Experience clipping images and saving paths correctly. • Great organisational skills and capable of handling of large numbers of files. • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator preferable but not essential. • Able to produce consistent photo retouching tasks on multiple images of matching products, ensuring uniform quality across different angles and lighting conditions. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am - 4:00pm Friday
