Finance Director
Our client is an established service provider, offering critical support solutions to vulnerable people in society. Working in partnership with public, charitable and commercial sectors, they are an established and growing organisation. An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Finance Director to join the senior leadership team, based in Birmingham. As Finance Director, you will contribute to decision making and strategy around the board table, use high quality reporting and data to challenge and shape the strategy and work collaboratively with your peers. Previous experience of charity sector accounting experience will be essential, combined with a commercial mindset and a genuine desire to bring value and help people. Duties will include but are not limited to: * Supporting the Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership to the organisation. * Provide oversight for the Finance and IT functions to support the organisation's overall goals and objectives and to drive the organisation forward. * Oversee and manage the financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting and forecasting. * Ensure adequate provision is in place for insurance and to meet any liabilities. * Working closely with the Director of People with regards to payroll, pay, reward reviews and facilities management. * Ensuring that adequate disaster recovery plans and business continuity plans are in place to ensure the organisation can continue to function effectively. * Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and statutory requirements, in relation to, corporate governance, data protection and information security. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), with some track record of accounting within the charity and not-for-profit sectors. A collaborative approach, strong communications skills and an empathetic outlook will be required, plus demonstrable evidence of influencing decisions at board level.
