Air Freight Clerk
Do you have strong air import/export experience with a good understanding of dangerous goods or time-critical shipment procedures? I am recruiting for an experienced Air Freight Operations Clerk for a repeat client close to Heathrow Airport, who specialises in in the transportation of hazardous/dangerous goods, temperature-controlled and time-sensitive shipments. My client serves both domestic and international customers and prides themselves on providing exemplary customer service. This is an office-based, Monday-Friday position, working from 8am-5pm with a 1-hour lunch break. Main Responsibilities: Handling imports and exports for dangerous/hazardous goods as well as time-sensitive and temperature-controlled cargoLiaise with customers for all aspects of their shipments.Find solutions for highly regulated shipments mostly via Air, as well as some Road & Sea.Make import/export airline bookings.Handle customs compliance and declarations.Track shipments and provide timely updates.Handle customer invoicing and creditor invoice processing. Key Requirements: Strong air freight operations experience, ideally within a freight forwarding company.Import/export experienceExperience shipping dangerous goods, temperature-controlled or time-sensitive shipments.Driving license and access to own vehicle (essential)Customs handling experience (ideal)Experience using Sequoia or other similar freight systems Benefits & Package: Salary of £30,000-£34,000 per annum Generous multi-commission structure Mileage/car allowance after successful probation Staff parking on site Company pension scheme 20 days holiday + bank holidays Occasional national travel opportunities to meet with clients
