The Role: The Department of Psychology at University College Birmingham started to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology programmes in September 2024. Our portfolio is expanding, and we are looking to recruit an innovative, student focused, academic to develop curriculum, and help shape the future of the Department. You will be excited by the creative possibilities of this new opportunity and will champion innovation and transformational new programmes that reflect and position graduates with advanced knowledge and skills required for new developments across Psychology. You will deliver high quality learning, teaching and student support, across the department, and achieve excellent student experience and outcomes across the programmes. You should be passionate about teaching Psychology in Higher Education, with an appreciation of the diverse application of theory to the real-world. You will have a proven track record working in Higher Education and have experience of working to relevant professional body standards. This presents an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in any area of Psychology and our focus is on developing curriculum which helps meet the needs of the workforce and supports our Psychology graduates with achieving strong outcomes. The applicant would be expected to teach across core areas in the BPS accredited Psychology curriculum, and across programmes within the department. We particularly welcome those with expertise in biological and cognitive Psychology and quantitative research methods.
