Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: Electric Motor Fitter The Electric Motor Winder/Fitter should have experience in working with a range of equipment including electric motors, gearboxes pumps and fan units. Key Accountabilities: Electric Motor Fitter Dismantle a wide range of motors, e.g. AC, DC, brake motorsTo have additional knowledge and experience of gearboxes, pumps, fan units, generators and other assemblies that include electric motors/windings;Testing skills - both static and dynamic testing; to include surge testing, core loss testing, pump tests, dynamic no load testing etc.To complete the relevant documentation and report on their faults (some may include environmental discharge), including test results at all stages of repair;To inspect and test motor subassemblies, e.g. brakes, switches, force ventilation units;To assemble motors and other rotating equipment for repair;To test units following repair and assembly; To be able to clean and prepare commutators for winding, including post winding processes such as undercutting etc;To take part in the call out system.To be able to help in attending site with the various site based activities carried out bu the department.
