Optical Dispensing Assistant– Loddon & Lowestoft Contract Personnel are looking for an experienced Optical Dispensing Assistant for join our client’s friendly team. How does the day-to-day look? Assisting in DispensingOffer the customer general advice and guidanceImplement minor repairs to framesCarry out OCT, retinal photography, tonometry and visual field tests supplementary to an eye examination and to alert the optometrist to any unusual / abnormal features identified through these processesKeep appropriate records and report to the Practice Manager as requiredSelling & Customer Relationship ManagementMaximise sales whilst minimising costs to ensure the achievement of specified margins and targetsAscertain the wants and needs of each customerRecommend, select and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and wantsDescribe merchandise and explain its use, benefits, operation and care to customersMaintain knowledge of current sales and promotions as well as policies regarding payment, exchanges and securityServe customers, bag and package purchasesObserve and identify security risks and theft and to prevent and attend to these occurrences appropriatelyEnsure that the practice provides excellent customer service at all times, meeting and – where possible – exceeding customer expectationsAnswer the telephones and deal with enquiries and appointmentsManage enquiries, complaints, refunds etc, as requiredImplement the policies and procedures set out in the Employment HandbookContribute to positive working relationships within the teamBe aware of the needs of team members and to show them courtesyCommunicate effectively with others in the teamWork collaboratively with team members and management colleagues in order to meet the objectives of the businessPut forward ideas and feedback during team meetings in order to improve ways of workingHealth & Safety / Environmental HealthImplement the legal obligation to maintain a safe working environment at all timesFollow the company’s procedures, as described in the Health & Safety PolicyReport anything unsafe to the Operations Director, and to report accidents, near misses, and so on in the accident book Schedule: Full time – Saturdays included Salary: £23,500 - £27,500 DOA About Contract Personnel: Contract Personnel are one of East Anglia’s longest standing, leading, independent recruitment agencies – established in 1989.
