Amazon

What Amazon is: Founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994, Amazon is an American technology company that employs around 1.3 million people worldwide.  

What Amazon does: The world’s largest online retailer, Amazon sells directly to consumers and acts as a marketplace for other sellers. Amazon also offers digital streaming through its Amazon Prime Video and artificial intelligence with Alexa.

Why you should work for Amazon: Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year for Amazon. In the UK it’s looking to hire 20,000 temps to cover the Christmas season.

What Hermes is: The largest delivery service company in the UK offering seven-day delivery. 

What Hermes does: Delivering parcels to customers across the UK and internationally, Hermes is the delivery partner for some of the biggest retail names, such as ASOS and Next. It also partners with local convenience stores, known as Parcel Shops, where customers can send and receive parcels.
