Software Commissioning Test Lead Job location: Reading - Onsite Contract duration: 6 months (Outside IR35) Working hours: 40-50 hours per week Our Client an Engineering company are seeking a Software Commissioning Test Team Leader for a contract position of 6 months Outside IR35 in Reading, UK Role As a Software Commissioning Test Team Leader you will supervise onsite commissioning activities to ensure safe, compliant and accurate testing is achieved and specialize in Siemens PLC and SCADA systems. Responsibilities As a Software Commissioning Test Team Leader you will review Commissioning documentation and Safe System of work and ensure the commissioning document and Safe System of Work is followed by all involved in the activity. Work to an approved commissioning procedure, an approved Safe System of Work and co-ordination with other working parties including attending site planning meetings. You will seek approval, apply, record, monitor &amp; remove the application of Temporary Commissioning Aid's and raise commissioning reservations and seek guidance from the commissioning manager or engineering support, when a system does not operate as expected or defects are found during the commissioning stage. In the event of uncertainty, the Software Commissioning Test Team Leaderis to halt the commissioning activity, brief those involved why, and seek guidance from the commissioning manager or engineering support. In the event of an incident resulting in harm to personnel or damage to equipment the team leader is to control the situation and make safe to prevent further injury, damage or loss. Skills &amp; Qualifications Software Commissioning Test Team Leader will have hands on experience of Siemens PLC and SCADA systems. Experience of Control panels, electrical installation and Instrumentation solutions. Experience of testing and on-site commissioning is essential Excellent H&amp;S awareness - SSSTS or SMSTS preferred CSCS card or equivalent - essential Experience of some or all of the following is desirable: Plant Historians, Network design and configuration, Cyber Security, Functional Safety Industrial Protocol Knowledge (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC etc) Important: The successful candidate will be required to obtain SC clearance on commencement of the contract. Electrician

Belcan Workforce Solutions are currently looking for an Electronic Security Systems Commissioning Manager for a Defence establishment in Reading. The post is for an estimated 12 month contract and is paying competitively on a daily basis. Successful applicants will be required to be Security Cleared prior to appointment and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain UK Security Clearance. An IR35 assessment for tax purposes is required for this engagement. In order to determine the Limited Company's correct IR35 status, an individual Limited Company assessment will be required. Your skills and experience will help deliver the successful commissioning and demonstration of all the specialist equipment, the building services and control systems required to operate the facility. Key responsibilities Advise on safety requirement for commissioning activities Management, oversight and delivery of commissioning work packages within a complex infrastructure project Support the management and deployment of the Overall Project Commissioning Strategy. Manage the production, review and approval of test documentation by the Suppliers Plan and co-ordinate commissioning tests with the Suppliers Integrate test requirements and pre-requisites into the project programme. To assist with the development of the detailed construction schedule to ensure a phased release of works to support the commissioning activities. Report status of the pre-requisites to commissioning works and the commissioning works by the suppliers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of workers, coordinating tasks, and maintaining effective communication with project managers and other stakeholders. Job Description/Purpose: Reporting to the Works Superintendent, the Senior Foreperson will ensure that works are delivered to the correct quality and in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. The Senior Foreperson will work collaboratively with the project team and lead front-line supervisors from the supply chain to achieve our objectives. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate works between all parts of the operational project team. Build and develop the team; identify training needs, review performance, and deliver briefings. Provide, monitor, and control labour, plant, and materials to meet the programme. Manage supply chain and direct workforce. Ensure high-quality standards to meet specifications and minimise rework. Assist the engineering team with method statements and programme outputs. Maintain accurate allocation sheets, delivery tickets, and plant returns. Ensure all records, such as inspections and works permits, are up to date. Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections. Keep a full and accurate daily site diary. Input into program and budget setting and monitor progress. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Essential: Understanding of construction techniques and best practices. Knowledge of construction contracts through formal training. Computer competence (Email, Word, Excel, Document control system). Successful experience at General Foreman level. Extensive knowledge of reinforced concrete structures. Desirable: Previous experience on nuclear schemes. Qualifications: Essential: Relevant CSCS Card.
