Working at Chartered Institute of Linguists

Established in 1910, CIOL is the leading professional body supporting a diverse membership of circa 7,500 language students, professional translators and interpreters, linguists working in education, and linguists who use their foreign language skills in business, government and industry. 

CIOL was awarded its Royal Charter in 2005; it plays a leading role in setting and upholding professional standards within the industry and is the only organisation which can award the title Chartered Linguist.

CIOL is also an Ofqual recognised  Awarding Organisation which offers a number of highly valued professional qualifications which are also recognised by Ofqual.
