What we do

Established in 1978, the Driving Instructors Association (DIA) is the largest professional membership body for driver and rider trainers in the UK. With a membership of over 10,000 professional trainers, and a subscriber base of 30,000 service users, the DIA is a leading professional resource for driver educators UK and worldwide. For our members and direct subscribers we provide a wide range of benefits and services, including CPD and training programmes, advice and support, lobbying and campaigning, news and industry updates, professional insurances and a host of business/career support resources.

As a wider group, which includes a publishing arm and internationally recognised advanced driver training and testing brand, the DIA is a respected authority on driver education and road safety - frequently consulted by members of the public, fleet decision makers, UK and overseas governments and other motoring and road safety stakeholders on driving training and testing, motoring regulation and road safety policy.

The DIA is based in Surrey and is run by a small, close-knit and friendly team.
