Working at Godalming College

What we do

Godalming College is a 16-19 Academy that offers an outstanding education to over 2,000 students. We have an excellent reputation both locally and nationally. The College was judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in December 2019. The College prides itself on achieving excellence for its students, prioritising learning – not only helping students to learn what they need to achieve their chosen qualifications but also to become better at the process of learning.

We cater for students ranging from 16-19 years old who are looking to study academic and vocational qualifications at Level 2 and Level 3. Primarily serving Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex, our student population consists of a range of state and independent school backgrounds.  We are the sixth form for the 4 most local secondary state schools in the Waverley borough. We strive to offer our students the best education possible, by offering a broad curriculum that covers over 35 subjects across A-Level, BTEC and GCSE. We also offer a wider range of additional enrichment activities, which aims to build student relations and encourage a full-spectrum of learning and development of new skills. We encourage our teachers to work in partnership with our students, allowing for an in-depth learning experience that produces confident, well-rounded and successful individuals.

Our picturesque campus features original architecture from the 1930s, originally constructed for the old grammar school, this iconic structure currently serves as our main building. Since the 2000’s, Godalming College has continuously expanded and updated its facilities. Now featuring nine new large buildings which display up-to-date IT equipment, three football fields, one rugby field, two netball courts, an indoor sports hall and a gym which is available for all staff. We also offer free on-site parking and provide advanced technologies to staff members.

We boast excellent results, in 2020 we achieved an A-Level pass rate of 99.8%, with 88.4% of those achieving an A*-C grade. Our BTEC pass rate excelled with a 100% pass rate, including 93.5% of entries achieving a Distinction* to or Merit grade.
