The United Kingdom Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) is a UK registered charity that raises funds for UNICEF’s emergency and development work around the world. UNICEF UK is one of 33 UNICEF national charitable organisations based in industrialised countries.
Within the UK, UNICEF UK delivers programmes and advocates for lasting change for children. Programmes such as the Baby Friendly Initiative which supported around 600,000 new babies as they enter the world. Around 1.5 million children go to schools that are becoming Rights Respecting. These are schools that are building an environment where every child is safe, respected and nurtured in Schools that work with UNICEF UK to receive the Rights Respecting Schools Award. And they are working with local governments in all four nations of the UK to help make child friendly cities and communities. These are public places where all children, especially the most vulnerable, feel safe, heard, nurtured and able to flourish.
All over the world, including here in the UK, UNICEF promotes and protects the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Every child has the right to the best possible start in life, which paves the way for healthy development and lifelong learning
Working at UNICEF UK
At UNICEF UK, we’re united by our belief in a better world for children. By working here, you can help us change children’s lives for the better everywhere.
We believe in a happy workplace, and in the power of fulfilled colleagues who enjoy their work. Our Shared Commitment is a set of values, developed by and for our people, that sets out how we work together and the culture we want to create.
We’re looking for people who share our values, and our passion for making a difference for children all around the world.
Diversity & Inclusion
We promote equality, diversity and inclusion in our workplace. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from. If you share our values and are ambitious, talented, and motivated to make a difference for children you’ve come to the right place.
We embrace diversity in all its forms, for what it brings to us and what it brings to our work for children. Diversity brings new perspectives, broadens our thinking and enriches lives. We create a sense of belonging for all colleagues by removing barriers to participation and creating space for all colleagues to be heard.
We want to drive systemic change; therefore, we are setting ourselves the ambition of reimagining ourselves as an organisation. Our strategic goals for diversity is to create a safe and open working culture by ensuring there is no statistically significant difference in engagement scores across race, disability or sexual orientation.
We also aim to achieve significantly more diverse representation across each level of seniority in our workforce to better reflect the UK population and other organisations within our sector by the end of 2025.
