Our mission to improve people’s quality of life begins with our employees

Wienerberger is committed to providing a safe and inclusive working environment that enables our employees to thrive. Therefore, our sustainability agenda promotes the following aspects:

Health, safety and wellbeing
Wienerberger pursues a Zero Harm agenda whereby everyone engaging with the company, be it employees, contractors, or members of the public, return home safely every day. Employees are empowered to maintain safe working environments by reporting hazards and participating in our Visible Management Leadership programme. This safety culture extends beyond the factory with ‘Safe Driving’ training provided to all company car drivers.

To promote health and wellbeing the company offers free, routine health check-ups for employees and mental health awareness training for managers. Our benefits platform, which available to all employees, offers a range of wellbeing benefits including discount gym memberships and family health plans. Wienerberger also offers in-confidence support for employees and family members through an Employee Assistance Programme.

Equality, diversity and inclusion

We provide products and services to a diverse customer base including architects, merchants, builders and home renovators. Therefore, Wienerberger requires a talented workforce with varied backgrounds and skillsets to deliver exceptional value. We aim to build diverse teams and provide and inclusive culture for our employees where treatment is equal. Our progress is published annually in our Corporate Sustainability Report and Gender Pay Gap reports.

We recognise that engaged employees are more creative and productive. Therefore, Wienerberger encourages employees to develop their skills through further study, and to participate in both community engagement and charity events with their colleagues. Our employees are connected both nationally and internationally through our innovation programme and iComm intranet platform, which facilitates the exchange of knowledge and experiences across the 30 countries in which we operate.
