Study Hours
- The learning hours for this course are up to 300 hours, which is around 60 minutes per day for 15 months.

Course Duration
- On average, students complete this course in 12 months, but we'll give you up to 24 months. Don’t worry if you go over the year though, we can organise an extension to your course for an additional fee, which also extends your tutor support.
Assessment
You can enrol now for A-Level Biology examinations from Summer 2025.
You’ll be required to complete three standard A-Level Biology written exams.
Paper 1: 2 hours, 35% of A-Level, 91 marks.
Paper 2: 2 hours, 35% of A-Level, 91 marks.
Paper 3: 2 hours, 30% of A-Level, 78 marks.These exams contain a mixture of short and long answer questions and extended response questions.
We provide a guaranteed exam space in one of our exam centres around the UK. (If you’re based in Northern Ireland, due to government regulations your exams must now be sat in UK)
We also offer an exam pass guarantee. If you don’t pass the first time, we’ll support you for free, to your next exams.
Assignments
During your course, you’ll be required to complete various assignments. These do not contribute towards your final grade but provide you with an opportunity to submit work to your tutor for marking and feedback. This will help you to monitor your progress and will be used to produce predicted grades if needed.
Practical endorsements
Some students, such as those who wish to go on to study medicine at university, may need to complete a practical endorsement as part of their A-Level Biology course qualification. Check with your university if your chosen area of study requires this, and if it does, this can be arranged through our examination partners.
